WARRENSBURG, MO 鈥 The 欧美视频 will host the second in a series
of three events in the 鈥淐entennial of Women鈥檚 Suffrage Speakers and Events Series鈥
on Tuesday, March 6, and Tuesday, March 13.
This event will include a showing of the 2015 film, 鈥淪uffragette,鈥 which examines
the suffrage movement in England. Two showings of the film are planned for 11 a.m.
and 5 p.m. in the Elliott Union Cinema. Following the 5 p.m. showing, a panel consisting
of Eric Tenbus, chair of the Department of History, Sociology, Anthropology and Cross-Disciplinary
Studies, and Sara Brooks Sundberg, professor of history, will host a discussion of
the film.
On March 13 the film about the suffrage movement in the United States, 鈥淚ron Jawed
Angels,鈥 will be shown in the Elliott Union Cinema at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., followed
by a panel discussion with Sundberg; Darlene Budd, professor of political science;
and Elizabeth Smith, instructor of history.
All events are free and open to the public.
The 鈥淐entennial of Women鈥檚 Suffrage Speakers and Events Series鈥 at UCM is funded by
a grant from the Missouri Humanities Council, with additional support from the UCM
Department of History, Sociology, Anthropology and Cross Disciplinary Studies.
