WARRENSBURG, MO 鈥� The 欧美视频 will host the second in a series
of three events in the 鈥淐entennial of Women鈥檚 Suffrage Speakers and Events Series鈥�
on Tuesday, March 6, and Tuesday, March 13.
This event will include a showing of the 2015 film, 鈥淪uffragette,鈥� which examines
the suffrage movement in England. Two showings of the film are planned for 11 a.m.
and 5 p.m. in the Elliott Union Cinema. Following the 5 p.m. showing, a panel consisting
of Eric Tenbus, chair of the Department of History, Sociology, Anthropology and Cross-Disciplinary
Studies, and Sara Brooks Sundberg, professor of history, will host a discussion of
the film.
On March 13 the film about the suffrage movement in the United States, 鈥淚ron Jawed
Angels,鈥� will be shown in the Elliott Union Cinema at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., followed
by a panel discussion with Sundberg; Darlene Budd, professor of political science;
and Elizabeth Smith, instructor of history.
All events are free and open to the public.
The 鈥淐entennial of Women鈥檚 Suffrage Speakers and Events Series鈥� at UCM is funded by
a grant from the Missouri Humanities Council, with additional support from the UCM
Department of History, Sociology, Anthropology and Cross Disciplinary Studies.
