Missouri Bicentennial Keynote Lecture on Sectional Tension and Compromise of 1820 Slated for Oct. 16 in Lee's Summit

WARRENSBURG, MO 鈥 As Missouri celebrates its bicentennial, History Program faculty members at the 欧美视频 are helping to coordinate an in-person presentation by Dr. Chris Childers, associate professor of history at Pittsburg State University and author of the book, 鈥淔ailure of Popular Sovereignty.鈥 His free, public Missouri Bicentennial Keynote lecture is slated for 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 16 at UCM-Lee鈥檚 Summit, the Missouri Innovation Campus (MIC), 1101 NW Innovation Parkway, Lee鈥檚 Summit.

Narrated by Marion "Woody" Woods (1450 KOKO/98.5 The Bar,) 鈥淢ule Tracks: UCM After 150 Years鈥 details significant events in the evolution of the university鈥檚 academic structure and the growth of the campus. This program will premiere on KMOS-HD channel 6.1 at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19.

UCM Faculty Research Article in 'Journal of Multidisciplinary Healthcare' Demonstrates Perceived Psychological Impact of COVID-19 on 'College Athletes'

For college athletes and members of other student groups the perceived anxiety surrounding the beginning of a new academic year in times of COVID-19 evokes emotions some students equate with those associated with major events such as a significant injury, surgery, or even losing a loved one. These are among the findings reported in a recent research paper published in the 鈥淛ournal of Multidisciplinary Healthcare鈥 conducted by a research team that included three 欧美视频 faculty members, a former graduate assistant, and a faculty member at an Ohio institution.
