Best Returns to Georgia Alma Mater as Honors College Alumnus of the Year

Exercise Tiger Association Honors Swoboda Among Adopted Warriors
An honor that was awarded to 16 service members across the nation, Courtney Swoboda, director of Military and Veteran Services at the 欧美视频, was recently recognized as an Adopted Warrior by the Exercise Tiger Association (ETA), a national non-profit commemorative foundation. She and others who received this distinction were publicly honored the weekend of Nov. 12-13 during Military Appreciation festivities that occurred on the University of Missouri 鈥� Columbia campus.

Having been cast in film and television roles that include two hit CBS sitcoms, actor Brian Thomas Smith has a profound appreciation for the role his 欧美视频 education played in his journey. As UCM engages in Giving Tuesday, Nov. 30, Smith will partner with his alma mater by hosting a student-led Zoom conversation the following day with individuals who support this annual fundraising event through their financial gifts.

UCM's Criminal Justice Students Celebrate 20-year Regional Winning Streak
For the 20th consecutive year, the 欧美视频's gamma Epsilon Delta chapter of the Lambda Alpha Epsilon American Criminal Justice Association (LAE-AMCA) has claimed the Sweepstakes Trophy in the Regional III competition. This is unprecedented in the history of the association. UCM will not go on to compete for its 19th consecutive national title.

UCM President Roger Best recently announced the establishment of the annual Education for Service Awards, which will honor one faculty member, one staff member and one student beginning with the spring 2022 semester. The first nominee applications will be submitted by Dec. 1, 2021 for individuals who exemplify the university鈥檚 six core values 鈥� Community, Diversity, Excellence, Learning, Opportunity and Service.

Governors Amend Design-Build Contract Expanding Scope of Airport Project
In its plenary session Oct. 29, the 欧美视频 Board of Governors voted to amend the design-build contract for construction of the new terminal and education building at Max B. Swisher Skyhaven Airport. This decision will expand the project which previously had a projected $2.8 million budget to one that will cost approximately $5.1 million, and will enable the facility to better serve community and student aviation needs.

Actuarial Science and Statistics Degree at UCM Nationally Ranked for Affordability
The Actuarial Science and Statistics program at the 欧美视频 has recently been ranked as one of the top 10 most affordable degree programs of its kind for 2022. Bachelor's Degree Center, a website dedicated to providing users with information pertaining to higher education institutions across the country, placed the program 10th in the recent ranking with UCM being the only Missouri institution to be recognized.
