- Internships: Learn on-the-job skills in an internship. UCM Finance students have found opportunities
at organizations such as Central Bank of Warrensburg, State Street Corporation and
American Family Insurance.
- Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF): Get practical experience in security analysis and portfolio management with the Student Managed Investment Fund. Manage real funds with fellow Finance students and build reports to explain why
you鈥檝e made your decisions. As part of this experience, you鈥檒l have access to an on-campus
trading room where you can become skilled in using Bloomberg workstations.
- Integrative Business Experience (IBE): Throughout a semester, you鈥檒l develop a business idea, learn how to apply for funding
to launch it and run it in a way that鈥檚 profitable. At the end of the semester, you鈥檒l
use the money earned in your IBE to fund a community service project for a local nonprofit organization.
- Student life: Join other Finance students to network, meet with faculty members, listen to speakers
and attend social events in the Student Finance Association.
