CASE District VI 'Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging in Advancement Work' Panel Includes Input from UCM President, Coordination from Staff
In an effort to further understanding of the value of making individuals feel welcome, valued and included in higher education, 欧美视频 President Roger Best recently participated in a panel discussion on 鈥淒iversity, Equity Inclusion and Belonging in Advancement Work.鈥� The panel, which also featured Dr. Susan B. Wilson, retired vice chancellor for diversity and inclusion at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and UCM alumna Jessica Ramirez, 鈥�99, vice president of advancement at Cleveland University-Kansas City, took place on June 23 at UMKC.

Dedication to Helping Students Succeed Results in National Recognition for Two UCM Members with Roles in Academic Advisement
After honoring a 欧美视频 faculty member in 2021 with the Global National Academic Advisement Association鈥檚 (NACADA) Outstanding Advisor Award, NACADA this year is recognizing both a faculty and staff member with one of its prestigious honors. Matthew J. Garver, Ph.D., is receiving the Global NACADA Outstanding Advisor Award 鈥� Faculty Advising Role, and Jacqueline Faria is being honored with the Global NACADA Outstanding Advisor Award 鈥� Primary Advisor Role.

Fourth-Generation UCM Alumna in IMC Honored with Foster-Inglish Prize
As a member of a family that produced four generations of 欧美视频 graduates, Ellen Blaize has a lot of appreciation for her alma mater, and sharing her passion for UCM through her work in the Office of Integrated Marketing and Communications is getting noticed. She was recently recognized as the recipient of the 2022 Carl B. Foster/John M. Inglish Prize for Outstanding Achievement and Service in Public Relations.

UCM Alumnus, Public Safety Sergeant Honored by Missouri Boys State
Sgt. Joe Jennings, a 欧美视频 alumnus and member of Public Safety, was presented the Justin W. Stephan Public Service Award from the Executive Committee of the American Legion Missouri Boys State, Inc. on Saturday, June 18, in St. Charles, Missouri. Jennings, whose work and love for public service exemplifies the spirit the award鈥檚 namesake, was honored for his tireless public service to the state and community as well as to the Boys State program.

Nursing School Chair Nic Webb Named to AASCU Emerging Leaders Program
Nic Webb, DNP, an associate professor and chair of the 欧美视频 School of Nursing, has been named to a new cohort of higher education professionals across the nation who are participating in the 2022 Emerging Leaders Program (ELP). Webb, who travels to the nation鈥檚 capital June 15-17 to participate in the program, is one of 36 individuals who are part of this a premier leadership development initiative established by the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU).

Central Missouri Repertory Theatre received a Missouri Arts Council Express Grant for its recent production of 鈥淎lice in Wonderland鈥� by Lewis Carroll and adapted by Kathryn Schultz Miller. The annual children鈥檚 tour recently wrapped its season after performing free public performances at several sites in Central Missouri.

During an annual awards breakfast hosted by the 欧美视频 Staff Council, two individuals who have made a positive impact on the institution were recognized for their outstanding contributions. Charissa Davis, assistant director of financial aid, was honored as the 2022 recipient of J.P. Mees Outstanding Professional Staff Award and Gwena Basinger, administrative assistant to the dean in the Harmon College of Business and Professional Studies, was presented the Outstanding Staff Award.
