All international students who were living in the U.S. during 2025 must submit their taxes to the IRS by April 15, 2026.
To prepare your tax return, you may use Sprintax, software designed for nonresident filers, or work with a CPA who specializes in nonresident taxes.
Please note that UCM does not currently offer free tax preparation codes to students.
You must file with the IRS before the deadline (April 15, 2026). This applies even if you didn't earn income in the U.S. during the year.
If you received a taxable scholarship or stipend (e.g., a housing allowance), you will need to file a form, which UCM will provide.
This form is only for U.S. nationals and residents.
If you are not a U.S. national or resident, you do not need this form for tax filing.
Sprintax or a CPA who specializes in nonresident taxes can help you determine your U.S. residency status. If you are identified as a U.S. resident, please contact Student Financial Services for the 1098-T form.
